The Cyclic Stability of the Superelasticity in Quenched and Aged Ni44Fe19Ga27Co10 Single Crystals

The effect of aging (at 773 K for 1 h) on the cyclic stability superelasticity was studied in preliminarily quenched (after annealing at 1448 Ni44Fe19Ga27Co10 [001]-oriented single crystals. It shown that NiFeGaCo crystals (both and aged) exhibited highly stable during more than 105 loading/unloading cycles compression without destruction. degradation curves divided into stages, each stage carefully considered. precipitation ω-phase particles led to a change mechanism aged main is formation uniform distribution dislocations; crystals, microstructural mechanisms consist non-uniform dislocations around appearance residual martensite.
